John was born and raised in Moline, Illinois. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from the University of Illinois in 1979 and his JD from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, Illinois – Kent College of Law in 1982. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar and the US District Court for the Central District of Illinois in 1982 and in 1990 was admitted to the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. John has practiced and experienced a wide range of practice areas primarily in civil litigation. John’s practice currently actively includes non-personal injury civil litigation, ERISA, labor law, corporate law and commercial litigation, real estate, and probate. John has been involved in a variety of community organizations and served a number of public appointments.
