Karri Belvel
Karri joined McCarthy, Callas and Feeney in February of 2021. She grew up in Bettendorf, Iowa and graduated from Bettendorf High School. She graduated as an Honors Scholar from Western Illinois University in 1996 and worked as a legal intern for the Tippecanoe County Prosecutor’s Office in Lafayette, Indiana for one year before beginning law school. She graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 2000 and began her legal career as an attorney with The Land of Legal Assistance Foundation in Alton, Illinois. She practiced for two years and then made a family decision to stay home with her two young daughters until 2012. During this time, her family relocated back to the Quad Cities and in June of 2012 she joined the law firm of Derek L. Hancks, P.C. in general practice.
Since joining McCarthy, Callas and Feeney, Karri’s practice concentrates in family law, probate, adoption, guardianship, real estate, and estate planning. She is also the Rock Island County court appointed Guardian Ad Litem for children with open juvenile abuse and neglect cases. She is a member of the Illinois Bar Association, Rock Island County Bar Association and serves on the Board of Directors for the Rock Island County Children’s Advocacy Center.
